This week is Banned Books Week.

Literary agent Ralph Vicinanza has passed away at the age of 60, Galleycat reports. Vicinanza represented a range of bestselling authors including Stephen King, Robin Hobb, and Peter Straub.

Irish Publishing News tells us that Jean Harrington, director of Maverick House, will head up a new childrens imprint called Paisti Press. reports that casting is underway for The Hunger Games movie, and indulges in some speculation about who is to play Katniss.

The word on the street is that JK Rowling will be appearing on Oprah this Friday.
