 Giveaway: MacRobertsonland and Chocolate Pack

I recently read and enjoyed Jill Robertsons'MacRobertsonland, a cheery, quirky bio of chocolatier Macpherson Robertson, a man who was quite possibly an earlier incarnation of Richard Branson. Because I thoroughly enjoyed this little volume, I thought Id pass along my copy to one of my readers. And to sweeten the deal, Ill even throw in some of the chocolates developed by Mac over his stellar career (due to postage charges, the amount of chocolate the winner will receive will depend on whether theyre a local or international reader, but I do promise that therell be chocolate).

Anyway, heres a bit about the book:

'Macrobertsonland tells the amazing rags to riches tale'of Australia's very own Willy Wonka, MacPherson'Robertson. Mostly lost to history, the man behind'some of Australia's (and the world's) favourite'confectionery ' including Freddo Frog, Cherry Ripe'and Old Gold chocolate ' was an eccentric self-made'millionaire and generous philanthropist whose spirit'reflected all the hopes and dreams of a young nation.'Jill Roberston (no relation!) shares the wonderful'story of this remarkable character with warmth and wit,'with just a little gossip thrown in for good measure.

He was an amazing guy. Its bizarre that he was so important in his time, but that hes almost forgotten now.

  2. I cant believe Ive never heard of him before. Freddo frogs and Cherry Ripes are some of my favourite guilty pleasures. I think Ill have to do some research on him now.
